The advancement in wireless body sensor network and micro fabrication techniques have created a great opportunity for using miniaturized wireless microelectronic devices in a variety of health and life science applications. With big data and machine learning exponential growth in healthcare and clinical treatments, accurate analysis of clinical data helps in early disease detection, patient care, and community services. Keeping this mind, our research interests lie in 1) designing and implementing novel sensors and remote health monitoring systems, (2) IoT based wearable biosensor for personalized mobile health, (3) reliable and secure data communication, and (4) early disease detection using machine learning.

Student Tree Diagram


In the past few days, I have spent some time evaluating some visualization frameworks in Javascript. There are tons of toolkits including Protovits, Raphael, Processing, D3 etc. Every one of them is unique and special in their own way in terms of features and scalability. Especially I was really impressed with D3 as it gives a nice balance of features and flexibility and allowed me to build just the visualizations I wanted. In this post, I want to take a quick dive into using D3 for building a tree diagram. The data were collected from a Facebook group called HigherStudyAbroad. This group especially helps prospective students to connect with other teachers and students around the world. Most of the queries in the group are based on the student profile who got accepted with scholarship. This visualization can help students see all the full credentials of each admitted student, including their state, university name, department, and their test scores.


World Map by Sunrise and Sunset Times

It is an interesting map of the world by the actual duration of the daytime of each country. This could be useful for many applications, one of them is to know the fasting time of each country. Click on the country to get the details or you could just hover your mouse.


The Cabinet of Bangladesh

Data visualization is a hot cake and it is no longer about pie charts and bar graphs. Data visualization…is an interpretation, a certain way to look at and think about data that often exposes a complex pattern or correlations. And the more you process your data, the more it changes our perspective altogether. In this project, I used a bubble chart (I named it Grape chart :p) to extract few statistics from the Bangladesh cabinet system, the data are collected from http://cabinet.gov.bd. However, as I am politically unbiased, it only gives limited information and quickest method to visualize each persona in the cabinet.
